I have been watching live Roland Garros, Paris french open tennis tournament, last week and these are some of the photos I got on sunday. So these are not the best photos I have found but ones I got from my seat on the last row I like more.

Bathing machines

The bathing machine was a device, popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, to allow people to change out of their usual clothes, possibly change into swimwear and then wade in the ocean at beaches. Bathing machines were roofed and walled wooden carts rolled into the sea. Some had solid wooden walls; others had canvas walls over a wooden frame.
The bathing machine was part of sea-bathing etiquette more rigorously enforced upon women than men but to be observed by both sexes among those who wished to be “proper”.
Especially in Britain, men and women were usually segregated, so nobody of the opposite sex might catch sight of them in their bathing suits, which were not considered proper clothing to be seen in.

Once mixed gender bathing became socially acceptable, the days of the bathing machine were numbered.

World War I 95th anniversary. The Great War on the ground

Second and last post dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the start of this war that has not ended all wars, the first post was about The Great War by air and sea.

The flames of war were fanned with the assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand in Sarajevo - June 28th of 1914. According to Wikipedia english version, this is when it started. According to Wikipedia spanish version, the war started a month later when Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia and Russia. Others point out the 1st of August as the starting date when Germany declares war on Russia.

This post contains, among victims of this war all kind of vehicles, animals, trenches, tanks and cannons . Wars offer not only curious photos but many people killed too.

Dark green = Allies
Light green = Allied colonies, dominions, territories or occupied territory
Dark orange = Central powers
Light orange = Central powers’ colonies or occupied territory
Grey = Neutral

World War I (initialized as WWI or WW1), also known as the First World War, the Great War, and the War to End All Wars, was a global military conflict (28 June 1914 – 11 November 1918) that embroiled most of the world’s great powers, assembled in two opposing alliances: the Entente and the Central Powers. Over 70 million military personnel were mobilized in one of the largest wars in history. The main combatants descended into a state of total war, pumping their entire scientific and industrial capabilities into the war effort. This month is the 95th anniversary of the start of this war that has not ended all wars. Do not forget it, do not to repeat it.

Introspection is the self-observation and reporting of conscious inner thoughts, desires and sensations. It is a conscious mental and usually purposive process relying on thinking, reasoning, and examining one’s own thoughts, feelings, and, in more spiritual cases, one’s soul.
Introspection sometimes can happen in the middle of the crowd, sat or walking alone. Some people alone cannot resist the feeling of loneliness, nature in the last photo show us we can keep going even alone :)
