A lynx (plural lynxes) is any of four medium-sized wild cats:

  • Lynx lynx (Eurasian lynx)
  • Lynx canadensis (Canadian lynx)
  • Lynx pardinus (Iberian lynx)
  • Lynx rufus (Bobcat)

Lynx have short tails and characteristic tufts of black hair on the tip of their ears. [Wikipedia]

The iberian lynx is the most endangered cat species in the world. According to SOS Lynx, if this species died out, it would be the first feline extinction since the Smilodon 10,000 years ago.

  1. Is it really so hard to learn, that you are not allowed to use Creative Commons pictures, wich forbid commercial use (i.e. by-nc-sa CC) on this page, because it features advertisment?

Joachim, I consider I am not doing commercial use of the photos shown on this site, benefits or users taking any particular action (neither commercial or noncommercial) are not the goal of this site. Creative Commons has not clearly define the meaning of noncommercial. In fact CC is currently conducting a study on the meaning of noncommercial and the results, they are expected this year, haven’t been published yet. http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/9557 .

So I am going to remove your photo because the intention of this site is to respect photographers work but check the results of the Creative commons study when they are announced, because I think featuring advertisment on a page, alone itself, cannot be defined as commercial use.
