Well my classical music knowledge is scarce, so I have decided to explore more on the subject of those classical melodies that we can hear from time to time but we aren’t able to identify them.
Last week I posted about Aranjuez and its concert.Today, after an stressing week, I need something relaxing…
Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) was a German Baroque composer, organist and teacher, who brought the south German organ tradition to its peak. He composed a large body of sacred and secular music, and his contributions to the development of the chorale prelude and fugue have earned him a place among the most important composers of the middle Baroque era.
Pachelbel’s work enjoyed enormous popularity during his lifetime; he had many pupils, among them J. Cristoph Bach brother of J. Sebastian Bach, and his music became a model for the composers of south and central Germany. Today, Pachelbel is best known for the Canon in D, the only canon he wrote – although a true canon at the unison in three parts, it is often regarded more as a passacaglia, and it is in this mode that it has been arranged and transcribed for many different media.
Enjoy the music and the fotos and the weekend.

Music is wonderful, but photo is mozart, not pachelbel… Un Jandepora?
Anonymous you are right the photo is Mozart, http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Wolfgang-amadeus-mozart_1.jpg. But the version of this masterpiece I prefer is this one.
I love pachelbel’s canon a lot. it has a calming effect in me. there’s a lot of classical music that gives me a chill everytime i hear it. like the violin romance also of beethoven i love it alot as well..but canon in d comes first. thanks for the post,.
