Some people dream of sitting on a beach in Tahiti or sailing around the world. Benjamin’s travel dream was to hitchhike around the USA for a year.

He wanted to meet people from all walks of life and learn about the world through a simple adventure.

The video took 3 months to shoot and 2 years to create (although Benjamin’s a hitchhiker and wasn’t slaving away for12 hours a day or anything :).

He walked for hours around airports to get the one shot, got nearly arrested at Chicago O’Hare but had some good luck too!

Filmed at Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Chicago, Houston, Dubai, Frankfurt and my home – airport Vienna.

Shot on Lumix GH1 and GH2 (both hacked), by making use of the ETC mode on the GH2 I was able to get up to 3200mm equiv. focal length.

Living in New York I’d grab my Canon 7D, or S95, and shoot footage of what was going on around me. It seemed like a never ending project and you could stay filming life in New York for a long time. But eventually I put my camera down and started to edit. Here’s the end result, it’s a bit rough and ready but that’s life in the Big Apple I guess.
